Terms of Service

1. What Daily Signal Does

Daily Signal ("we," "our," "the Service") connects to your Gmail account with read-only access, analyzes your email, and delivers a daily intelligence brief by text message and email. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older and have authority to grant access to the Gmail account you connect. The Service is intended for business and professional use.

3. Subscription & Billing

• Free trial. New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. No charge until the trial ends.
• Price. After the trial, the Service costs $29/month (USD) per user, billed monthly.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
• Cancellation. Cancel anytime from your Settings page. You keep access through the end of the billing period. No refunds for partial months.
• Price changes. We'll give 30 days notice before any price increase.
• Payment processor. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never store your card details.

4. Gmail Access

You grant the Service read-only access to your Gmail inbox via Google's OAuth 2.0 system. Specifically, we request gmail.readonly scope, which means:

• We can read your emails
• We cannot send, delete, modify, or move any emails
• We cannot access any other Google services beyond Gmail and Calendar

You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

5. Your Data

• Ownership. You own your data. We process it only to provide the Service to you.
• No selling. We will never sell your email data, contact list, or usage patterns to any third party.
• No training. We do not use your emails to train AI models.
• AI processing. Your email data is processed by third-party AI providers (Anthropic Claude, Voyage AI) to generate your brief. These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
• Deletion. Delete your account from Settings and all your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. SMS / Text Messages

By providing your phone number during onboarding, you consent to receive automated text messages from Daily Signal, including your morning brief and system alerts. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Service's APIs
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Resell or sublicense the Service without written permission

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in a way that harms other users or violates law. We'll give reasonable notice where possible. You may terminate by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee accuracy of AI-generated briefs — always verify critical information from the source. We are not liable for missed emails, incorrect summaries, or business decisions made based on brief content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the prior three months.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
